I entered nearly $7,000 in medically-related expenses but wasn't able to use the federal deduction (used standard). Can I enter it in CA? If so, where?

Can I deduct medical expenses on CA return if I used standard deduction on federal? If so, where on the CA return?

1. Yes. The federal will carryover the medical and other items entered to CA.

2. CA does allow you to edit some of the itemized deductions. As you go through the program, you will see Here's the income CA handles differently.
