If your employer contributed to your HSA, then the contribution will be reported on form W-2. Entering the form W-2 is all you need to do to record the HSA contribution made by an employer.

If you received a 1099-SA for distributions from your HSA, then enter this form in TurboTax. To enter in TurboTax:

  • In your open return, select My Account
  • Tools
  • Topic Search
  • Type '1099-SA' in the box, then select GO
