I am US citizen but living in Japan. I received Japanese SS benefit in 2022. So, how can I apply this amount to my tax returns?

The best method of reporting this Social Security income is to do the following.

  1. Click Federal > Wages & Income>all income>
  2. Go to the last selection, Miscellaneous Income and click Start
  3. Go to the last option, Other reportable income and click Start
  4. When it asks, "Any other reportable income?" say yes and then type in a description and the amount to report it on your tax return.
  5. Here type in Foreign pension as a description and the amount of the Social Security.
