I am trying to choose itemized deductions and TT will not let me. It keeps taking me back to standard. How do I choose itemized?

This does not work. I have been trying this for an hour. It just keeps taking me back to the page telling me that standard is better, even though, for my situation, it is not. This is so frustrating. 

Maybe if you tell us why you need to itemize we can help more.

Are you filing married filing separately?   If you and your spouse are filing MFS, then you both have to file the same way.   Either you both have to itemize or you both have to use standard deduction.    If that is why you are itemizing, make sure you have indicated on the screen in My Info that you and your spouse will be itemizing.
