If you contributed to your HSA outside of work, you need to enter the amount in the HSA section of TurboTax to get the HSA deduction.

If you made an HSA contribution that is not on your W2 form, this is how to enter it:

  1. Select Federal from the left side menu.
  2. Select Deductions and Credits toward the top center.
  3. Scroll down or expand the list to find Medical.
  4. Expand the section and click Start to the right of HSA, MSA Contributions.
  5. Continue through the screens until you get to, Let's enter your HSA contributions.
  6. This page will show you the amount of HSA contributions from your W2 form and allow you to enter an additional amount that you contributed outside of work.
  7. Continue through the rest of the section.

Please note, the HSA contributions shown on your W2 form are made pretax, that means it is not included in your taxable wages in box 1, so it can't be deducted again.

What do you think is supposed to show there? Do you have an HSA or an MSA? What is your concern?

Last year I have an amount for an HSA deduction while this year I show nothing. Shouldn't I get a deduction for my HSA?
