I am not being prompted for the depreciation expense of my home office. Where can i enter this information?

All other information was correctly requested, including square footage, except for depreciation or cost basis.

If you use the Simplified Method, the deduction is based on square footage times $5.00.

Cost basis is not needed nor used.

The advantage of using the simplified method is that deprecation recapture is not required when the house is sold.

Hi, it’s not that as I am not using the simplified method. Strangely it has asked me for all other home expenses that should go on form 8829 except for the depreciation inputs. I have even tried logging in and out, and repeating that section, but still no prompt. -Is there a system issue?

No error being reported.

Which way did you choose to enter the expenses,

with the Office Expense Expert or

Spreadsheet-style?

Which program are you using and is it Online or Desktop?

10th time is a charm! It took me to the depreciation prompts.
I am using online and chose the direct line item input method.
thanks.
