I am married but living separately and am file as so, which one of us is responsible for the last payment on the 2008 homebuyers credit repayment

If one of you is living in the home, that person must pay the homebuyer credit. If you both moved out, then Form 5405 needs to be filed and explain that you have moved out. For full details, see here.
