I am a railroader so I claim driving miles for to and from work, I'm getting asked questions about my vehicle, I'm I in the right place?

You can't deduct commuting miles (home to main job). You may deduct mileage driving your own car from one duty point or job to another, but not from home to the first duty point and not from the last duty point back home.
