Two ways of handling multiple donations to the same charity at various times of the year. I put in an entry for each event because my receipt and calendar align with this information, and I want to be able to remember it to that detail.
My father on the other hand leverages the input directly in TurboTax instead of It's Deductible. TurboTax has a "Multiple donations at various times", and all he provides for his entry is the information there.
How do I record various churches for the same donation throughout the year?
If you make multiple donations of differing amounts to the same charity, you can use the Turbotax program (not Its Deductible) and lump them all together as a yearly amount in the location provided in the program for tax deductions for charities. You may also list each donation separately in Its Deductible but that can be tiresome if you have a couple of dozen donations or more. If you support several different churches with the same recurring amount each time, then use the multiple donation feature in Its Deductible for each church. If the amounts differ but are made multiple times per year then the solution again is to use the Turbotax program rather than Its Deductible.
