How to e-file schedule 8812 with 2021 income tax return to claim the remaining credit

We're eligible to get $3000 credit for my kid, but we only got $1500 from Oct. to Dec. 2021.

I did not find a place to claim the remaining credit when I e-file the tax return. The SW just asked me to input the Box 1 on letter 6419 ($1500 only).

How can I claim the remaining credit thru e-file?

If I can't, can I e-file without it, and file an amended tax return?

Thanks.

You already have entered the information to receive the second half of the child tax credit.   When you entered the information from your Letter 6419 you gave TurboTax information it needed to know to include the second half of the child tax credit.

The second half is the Refundable Child Tax Credit which is shown on Line 28 of Form 1040.   Line 28 should show that you are receiving a credit of $1,500.

The questions for the child tax credit this year are different than in past years.   You already received the non-refundable portion of the child tax credit through the advanced payments you received from July through December 2021.  What you are receiving now through your tax return is the refundable portion.
