How to delete a form mortgage credit certificate

Form 8396 is used to figure the mortgage interest credit for 2024 and any credit carryforward to 2025.

To delete the form in TurboTax online:

1. In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
2. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
3. Select Delete next to the form,

In TurboTax Desktop 

1. Open or continue your return.
2. Switch to Forms Mode by selecting the Forms icon.
3. From the menu, select the form you want to remove.
4. After the form is generated in the right pane, select the Delete Form button.
5. Follow any onscreen instructions to remove the form or forms.
