How much of your 2022 estimated state taxes did you pay in 2023?

The question "How much of your 2022 estimated state taxes did you pay in 2023?" surely doesn't include the January installment of 2022 taxes paid in January of 2023 does it?  I received a 2022 state refund so I assume the answer to this question is $0?

yes it does. it affects the portion of the refund that is not taxable, if any is taxable because it was paid in the same year as the refund. The tax laws do not provide that the refunds come from the last payments made as some would assume. .
