How do you copy the list of charities from the previous year to the current year? I make a lot of donations to the same charities every year!

All of my charities in It's Deductible carried forward automatically from 2018 to 2019. Have you looked in the 2019 drop down for Items to see if they are listed? If you don't see anything there, are your 2018 and prior year entries still showing?

That's the weirdest thing.  When I looked at 2019, it was empty.  I looked at 2018, it was empty.  I looked at 2017, and all of those were there.  I went ahead and filled in some of the ones I needed for 2018, then went back to 2019, and only those I just entered are showing up.  I remember having this issue a few years back, and I thought it was fixed?

Are you sure you don't have more than one account and entered your 2018 info in a different account?

I only have one account, and have had it for nearly 10 years.

" I looked at 2018, it was empty. "

You should check for multiple accounts just in case.   Multiple accounts are one of the most common issues in the forum.  It's quick to check.   We see people all the time who are surprised when they find another one.    There is another possible cause which revolves around a beta test version which was tried for a short while about 3 years ago.  Watch for my full answer below.

I have emails dating back over 8 years on this account, and I am fairly certain I did not open another one.  Just for grins and giggles, I have run a search for the terms "turbotax" and excluding anything that had my username and came up with nothing.  I may not know anything about taxes, but I know how to grep my mail folder.  😉

As I said in my answer, you can have up to 5 accounts with the same email address.   I provided the method to look below.  It may or may not find anything.  There's no way to know in advance, but it's easy to do, if you follow the instructions exactly as I posted with careful attention to the note in bold about your browser.   For most people, finding an unsuspected second account will explain any missing entries.  But it's up to you if you want to look for another account or not.   Otherwise, you can phone TurboTax Support, and they may be able to help you locate your 2018 entries.  They are open late tonight.

Use the form at the link below to schedule a call back, or it may provide a number.  Hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific (8AM-12 Midnight Eastern) 7 days/week.

That's not helpful, but thank you for responding.  I HAVE checked for other accounts and there are none.  Period.  And thanks, but I just entered them again to resolve it.  Have a pleasant weekend.

You're welcome.  We don't know in advance what anyone's results will be until they try the 2 recovery methods.  You can speak to Customer Support at the link above if you wish, but if you re-entered the items, then there's no need to.

Two common causes of missing items in ItsDeductible are either using an old URL for a short-lived beta version from 2-3 years ago, or if one has multiple accounts and signed into the wrong one.

To avoid getting the old beta version, make sure you are going to ItsDeductible each time through this link below.  Bookmark it in your browser and get rid of any old ItsDeductible bookmarks.

If that doesn't solve it, then here's how to check for multiple accounts.

You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes.  A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be.  It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all.

To get a list of your User IDs and recover account access, you can use the tool at the link below.  Try using your phone number first.   After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access.

NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop.  Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below.  You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session.

If still no luck after running that on your phone number and email address(es) that you can access,  here's another method.
Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, and choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by SSN and other parameters.

When I use It's Deductible online they automatically carry over from one year to the next. When I click on the charity box for the next year a drop down box shows the charities from the previous year. If you don't see this, you may have more than one account. See the answers above for possible solutions.
