How do I write off a employee work deduction as an expense, as opposed to an asset?

For W-2 work related deductions, I entered a piece of furniture that was relatively inexpensive, under assets. TurboTax then asked me how would I like to write off this item -- it says based on the cost of the item, "we recommend you write of this item as an expense instead of as an asset. Generally, items that cost $200 or less should be expensed (the full value of the item is deducted this yea) rather than depreciated (the value of the item is deducted over a period of several years)."

Then it give the options of "I'd like to enter this item as an expense later." and "I'd like to continue entering this item as an asset."

I chose the first option, write off as an expense later, but I don't see anything that changed. So, the question is where do I enter this item in as an expense in TurboTax? The item is a piece of furniture I needed to do my W-2 job

Sorry---W-2 employees cannot deduct expenses for working from home.  Job-related expenses were eliminated as a deduction for W-2 employees by the tax laws that changed for 2018 and beyond.  Your state tax laws might be different.
