how do i switch to standard deduction if I itemized last year?

The software will automatically default to standard deduction unless you enter enough itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction.  You do not have to do anything to make that happen.

Even if you enter more itemized deductions than the standard deduction, you will be given the option to change to the standard deduction.
