How do I remove item from to-do list? I am being asked for a Mortgage Interest Credit Certificate but I do not have one.

I cannot finish my taxes without answering information about something I do not have.

You can go back through the federal interview and delete this.  

  1. Open your return
  2. Go to the Deductions and Credits section
  3. Under the Home subsection, select revisit by the Mortgage Interest Credit Certificate
  4. Select delete by the mortgage interest credit certificate
