How do I find out if the 2022 glitch affecting my 2023 taxes?

Hello,

I noticed that this year, TurboTax is listing all my itemized deductions as zero.

This does not make sense since I have more expenses than last year.  Then I ran into this article:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-credits-deductions/discussion/re-there-is-a-glitch-in-the-2022-turbotax-deluxe-download-version-it-is-not-calculating-mortgage/01/3090122/highlight/false#M296688

How can I find out if this issues from last year is affecting my 2023 taxes?  Or how can I validate that turbotax is not getting this wrong?

The itemized list is all $0 because Turbo Tax selected the standard deduction. Review Schedule A to see which entries are not right. You can tell Turbo Tax to override the standard deduction with your itemized deductions on the next screen.

As @zomboo noted, the screenshot you provided indicates that TurboTax selected the standard deduction, not that none of your itemized deductions were entered.

If you are using a Desktop version of TurboTax, switch from Step-by-Step to Forms mode using the button at the upper right, and review the forms and worksheets.

If you are using TurboTax Online, and you have paid for your product, you can select Tax Tools from the left side menu, then Print Center. Print your return as a pdf and look through the pdf to find the worksheets that include your itemized deductions.

In the alternative, revisit the sections where you entered the itemized deductions to ensure they were all entered correctly and that the total exceeds your standard deduction ($27,700 for married filing jointly).

@MonikaK1  Thank you!  This is helpful and will follow this advice.  Can you guide me how to open the forms and the sections to review.

To get back to the itemized deductions section, you can search for Schedule A and use the Jump to Schedule A link from the search results to get back to that section in TurboTax.   To view forms, it depends on which version you are using.   If you are using the desktop version, click on Forms at the top.   If you are using the online version, click on Tax Tools, then Print Center on the left side menu, to access all of your forms and schedules.   You can preview your Form 1040 at any time.
