How do I eliminate a Federal return error "vehicle registration fees should not be less than zero"?

I sold the vehicle in 2015, so I have no registration fees in 2016.  The form brings up the 2015 deduction information for comparison, so I entered 0.00 for the same vehicle in 2016. Then, I tried to clear the vehicle description and the registration fee from the entry, and I got an error "enter vehicle description" on the subsequent review.   All I want to do is clear the vehicle in some manner to clear the error.

To fix this error, just follow these steps:

  1. Scroll down in the box to Line 3a
  2. Click on the line below '2015 Amount' and remove the number
  3. Click on the line below 'Enter 2016 description:' and remove the vehicle
  4. Delete the amount listed in the box 'Auto reg fees amount'.
  5. If a details box pops up, remove all information listed in the box.
  6. Click Continue and continue with the return
