Go to the search box in the upper right hand corner. Type Form 8834 and then click the "jump to Form 8834. However, you will find this message, "The energy-efficient vehicles section isn't ready yet". The expected availability date is February 5.

Be sure that the form you are looking for is Form 8834 and not Form 8936. The two forms have a similar name, but are used very differently.

Here is how to find Form 8834 in Turbo Tax:

  1. Log in and continue your return.
  2. Select Federal from the menu on the left.
  3. Select Income & Expenses.
  4. Scroll down to Other Business Situations and expand the section.
  5. Select Business Credits at the bottom of the section, click Start or Revisit on the right.
  6. Select Passive activity credits and click Start or Update on the right.
  7. You get  a message about the need to file  Form 8582-CR, Passive Activity Loss Limitations to claim passive activity credits. It goes on to say that if your credit carry over is already on your Schedule K-1, you do not need to enter it here.
  8. When you click continue, you will asked about your passive activities, to which your credit carryover applies. Complete the information.
