How do I calculate property taxes that were paid through escrow if they are not included on form 1098?

Most counties and cities have a website you can access to see the property taxes paid.  Or contact your lender to find out the amount of property taxes paid and why they were not on the Form 1098 you received.

You can look up the amount of property taxes paid through escrow on your escrow statement.

Note that you can only deduct property taxes actually paid during 2023.
