How can we get the system to include foreign taxes paid on line 6 of Arkansas itemized deductions in addition to actual personal property?

The line should list both personal property and foreign tax paid as separate items and amounts.

Putting foreign tax paid on your Arkansas return depends on how you claimed foreign tax on your federal return. Did you take a deduction or credit?

TurboTax will transfer foreign tax to line 6 of Form AR3 if you deducted foreign tax on your federal return.

If you claimed a foreign tax credit, you will have to use the CD/Download program.

How do I switch from TurboTax Online to TurboTax CD/Download?

Once you’ve transferred your return:

  1. Tap Forms in the top right corner
  2. In Forms in My Return (left column), select Form AR3
  3. Enter foreign tax paid on line 6

Re: line 6 of Arkansas itemized deductions not reporting foreign taxes paid, your response is not satisfactory. We reported foreign taxes paid on our federal return on line 20 of the 1040-SR. TurboTax is not picking this amount up on the state return.

it depends on whether or not you itemized your Foreign Tax Credit in your federal return. If you took the credit in your federal, you cannot opt to take the itemized deduction in your Arkansas return.

If you choose to itemize instead of taking the credit, the itemized deduction will appear in line 6 of your AR3 and will appear as other taxes under personal property taxes or other taxes.

At one point I incorrectly selected "standard deduction" for Arkansas. How do I change it back to Itemized and get the AR3 to populate in the return? The intention was to take the standard deduction on Federal and Itemize on Arkansas.

Go to your state tab and delete Arkansas. log out of your return to save the return and log back in again. Go to your state tab and start on your Arkansas return again and see if you are able to itemize this time.
