For Foreign taxes,

  • Go to the Search/magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  • Enter 'foreign tax credit’.
  • Click on 'Jump to foreign tax credit'.

Or follow these steps.

  • Down the far left side of the screen, click Federal.
  • Across the top of the screen, click Deductions & credits.
  • At Your tax breaks, scroll down to Estimates and other taxes paid.
  • To the right of Estimates and other taxes paid, click on Show more.
  • To the right of Foreign taxes, click on Start/Revisit.

So I file my taxes I had no one to walk me through it and I did it myself so I have an apartment that I do pay rent of $657.00 a month altogether with me and someone else its $1,314.00 a month but since I don’t get paid as much so I just pay $360.00 when I file my tax it say I was getting $344.00 during the process it said that I needed to pay $14 that’s how much I suppose to get back it sent me $27 which is my federal e-file but it was canceled so I never received it someone told me maybe they just gonna put all the money on there but they only gave me $207 that’s my nc-state e file so what is the $180 total tax 2019 refund am I getting that back or not or is that for the IRS and also what about trump giving us $1,200 my job has me working from home but now I have to spend money do to this stupid virus going around and there gonna start cutting out hours cause not too many people calling in if they is there canceling did I go wrong with something or I misunderstood something I just need to know what’s going on if you don’t know can you send me the IRS number and email

It sounds like you have questions about your Federal and NC state refunds.

  • Individuals can reach the IRS at 800-829-1040 from 7 am to 7 pm local time.
  • North Carolina Department of Revenue can be reached at 877-252-4052 or 877-252-3052.

The Federal government may be sending direct payments to many taxpayers but the final details are still being worked out.
