How can I change my property tax amount paid in 2024? the program has doubled it and won't let me change it.

You can go back to the TurboTax screen where you entered your property tax, and check your entries as follows:

 

Click on the search icon in the upper right of your TurboTax Screen

  1. Type "property taxes" in your search bar
  2. Click on the link "Jump to property taxes"
  3. Your screen will say, "Enter any additional property tax paid in 2024"
  4. Delete any incorrect entries you may have there (i.e. if you enter property taxes from your Form 1098 and here it will be doubled
  5. Click on your search icon in the upper right of your TurboTax screen
  6. Type "1098" in the search bar
  7. Click on the link "Jump to 1098"
  8. Click "Edit" next to your Form(s) 1098
  9. Continue through your screen to "Let's get the details from your XXX 1098"
  10. Check your property tax amount on that screen
