How can I access Part II of Form 5695 on Turbotax? Turbotax does not let me take the "nonbusiness energy property credit"

I am not taking forward previous years. It is a new credit from 2021.

What are you trying to enter for the credit?

Qualified energy property is any of the following.
• Certain electric heat pump water heaters; electric heat pumps; central air conditioners; and natural gas, propane, or oil water heaters.

Enter the cost in the box labeled Energy-Efficient Building Property.

You may be able to take a credit equal to the sum of:
1. 10% of the amount paid or incurred for qualified energy efficiency improvements installed during 2021, and
2. Any residential energy property costs paid or incurred in 2021.
However, this credit is limited as follows.
• A total combined credit limit of $500 for all tax years after 2005.
• A combined credit limit of $200 for windows for all tax years after 2005.
• A credit limit for residential energy property costs for 2021 of $50 for any advanced main air circulating fan; $150 for any qualified natural gas, propane, or oil furnace or hot water boiler; and $300 for any item of energy efficient building property.

If the total of any nonbusiness energy property credits you have taken in previous years (after 2005) is more
than $500, you generally can't take the credit in 2021.

Where do I enter qualified energy-saving improvements?

You can enter them in the Deductions & Credits section:

The “non-business energy property credit“, is for the purchase of energy-efficient home heating and cooling equipment, and the installation of efficient doors, windows, and insulation.

  1. Open or continue your return, if you don't already have it open.
  2. In TurboTax, search for energy improvements. (Don't search for energy credit as this will take you to the wrong place.)
  3. Click the Jump to link in the search results.
  4. At the bottom of the Energy-Saving Home Improvements screen, answer Yes and continue. Follow the instructions.
    1. Page 1 of the interview covers solar, geothermal, wind, and fuel cell. If you're looking for other improvements, like doors, windows, furnace, air conditioning, or heat pump, just keep going to the next page.
