Hi, I don’t have an ssn/itin yet , and I need to file for a tax extension, is it possible to do that? I’m an international student on an f1 visa

Yes, you may file Form 4868 with no ITIN. 

 

According to the IRS:

“If you don’t have an ITIN, enter “ITIN TO BE REQUESTED” wherever an SSN is requested.”
