HDHP and HSA Deductions and Questions

Sorry, I found out more information after I posted my first question. So, if you have an HSA account, then you have an HDHP?  Based off of the link that tells you how to identify if you have an HDHP it says if your insurance card says HSA on it you have an HDHP. My insurance card from 2016 says HSA Plan right on it. I just want to confirm this would mean I have an HDHP plan then for that time period, correct?

HSA plans require insurance coverage in a HDHP. You can't have and HSA without the HDHP per IRS rules.

It would be reasonable to assume that your insurance card indicates that you have an HDHP, however the best way to confirm that your plan meets the IRS requirements, is to talk to your insurance carrier or your payroll department of your company.
