The value from the IRS form is not transferred to the equivalent CA form. This appears to be a bug. I am using the 12/22 update of the desktop version of Turbotax Home and Business. I realize the CA return is a work in progress, but thought I should report it in case it went unnoticed in the final update. Due to the fact that the IRS split the calendar year in half and assigned different reimbursements per mile for the two periods it is easy to see this may have been overlooked in the CA form.
You might want to wait another 2-3 weeks for this issue.
There are no bugs or program errors until after the estimated date of availability which you can check by either clicking on the REVIEW tab in the program or going online here : https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_online&bu=cg
As you can see much of CA will not be fully functional until 1/26 at the earliest ... so patience is a must.
I didn't think I was being impatient. On the contrary I was trying to be helpful.
I don't know who you are but the statement "There are no bugs or program errors until after the estimated date of availability" seems arrogant to say the least. I recognized that the CA return was "a work in progress" but apparently your internal testing is so fool proof that you don't need input from anyone. OK. I'll not bother to document anything else in the future. Certainty must be so satisfying!
