Handling of Dependent Tithing Donation?

21 year old son, full time student, claimed as a dependent on my taxes. Made about $1,300.00 in summer work, had reportable interest on his savings account, and paid tithing to our church.

Can I choose to add his tithing to my tax return since, even if he files his own TurboTax Free return, he would not be able to gain tax benefit from the charitable contribution?

No.  If he made the charitable contributions, only he can claim the deduction (which is unlikely to save him any tax due to the large Standard Deduction).  It can NOT go on your tax return.
