Form 8962 NOT being filed is it because of....
I'm using TurboTax Deluxe 2020 for MAC.
I entered Form 1095-A. Form 8962 was produced, and Net premium tax credit is $0. We I finished the return, did a final review, Used Print Center to Save As PDF.
PDF does NOT include Form 8962. Is that because the IRS announced that taxpayers with either a net premium credit of 0 (zero) or have an excess APTC for 2020 are not required to file Premium Tax Credit, Form 8962. And there is no need to print out the Form 1095-A and Form 8962 then mail those two forms to the IRS?
That said, the Intuit website still states when a taxpayer received Advance Premium Tax Credits during 2020 (ie, will get Form 1095-A or Form 1095B ), that Form 8962 is REQUIRED with the tax return. There in lies my confusion.
Form 8962 is not required to be filed if your return has any Excess Advanced Premium Tax Credits. The only time you would need to include Form 8962 in your 2020 income tax return is if you are claiming a Premium Tax Credit.
