Form 8283 Rejected - won't accept SSN as Identifying Number

I just had my return rejected because Intuit requires that the Identifying Number above Section A be something other than my SSN (Error: Entity identifying number should not be the same as your social security number).  However, my total donated properties is greater than $500 but less than $5000, so I do not require Section B.  Therefore, the only required identifying number on the form should be my own SSN.

Am I missing something?

Some new rules have been enacted for Donations on Form 8283.  You're being asked for the Entity Identifying Number (which is the EIN of the organization you donated to).

Try breaking down your non-cash donations into $500 or less increments.  If you donated $1000 of items to Goodwill, for example, you could enter two donations of $500 each, or three donations totaling $100.

If you're using TurboTax Online, close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies, and return to the donations section to make your changes.

MarilynG1,

Thank you for your reply.  However, none of my individual donations exceeds $500.  Form 8283 was required because the total of all the non-cash donations exceeded $500.

The error being raised by Turbotax is related to my name and SSN being entered in the 2nd line of the form (previously automatically entered by Turbotax).  After deleting my name and SSN, I was able to successfully complete my return.

Thank you for your assistance.
