Form 5329-T and 5329-S keep popping out as "error", and asking input foreign country name. I did not put any foreign country information. How shall I treat this issue?

Why form 5329 keeps asking country information?

It depends how your information may have entered in your return.  If your 1099 R's were imported, there may have been an import error.  Here are a few steps you can try to resolve it:

  1. Check 1099-R Entries: One of your 1099-R forms might have a box checked indicating foreign income. Review each 1099-R entry to ensure none of them mistakenly indicate foreign income.
  2. Address Type: Make sure the address type for your 1099-R entries is set to "US address" and not "Foreign address".
  3. Re-enter Information: If you can't identify the problematic 1099-R, try deleting all 1099-R entries and re-entering them manually.

Let us know if any of these solutions work.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I double (more than double) checked any foreign information, but no foreign information for 1099-R or any  other information.  Also, replace the 1099-R information.

The error kept indicating a check box to select foreign country code, and I selected non applicable did not work more than ten times.  The form 5329 showed "other foreign country" even I did not select such country code.

Then I tried to select a code for Japan and have the form show "Japan" then I erased  the code of Japan.  After that the error message immideately disappeared.  I have successfully filed the return.
