I have a peculiar problem. I have PASSIVE INCOME ( only this category income) from 5 different foreign countries.
I entered the income for each from higher value to lowest value.
Since Form 1116 accommodates ONLY 3 countries in one copy of Form 1116 , 2 copies of Form 1116 are generated.
Copy 1 of Form 1116 has 2 pages as expected
BUT copy 2 of Form 1116 has ONLY the first page and second page is NOT generated.
Please help to resolve this.
From TT's "unsupported calculations and situations in the 2022 TT software"
The program does not calculate separate Forms 1116 for categories of income Section 901(j) or "Income
re- sourced by treaty." If more than one copy of Form 1116 is completed using either of these categories
of income, the second and all additional copies will be identified as "Statements" and only one Form
1116 with each of these categories of income will have Part III completed. The program completes Part
IV (Summary of Credits from Separate Parts III) of the FIRST Form 1116 that is completed. It does not
complete the Part IV Summary on the Form 1116 with the highest amount on Line 21.
TT also uses this procedure for "passive category income."
Does it allow this II copy of Form 1116 to b created manually?
The TT print center will only display Part 1 and Part 2 of the 2nd copy. (Statement). Since there is no data inserted into any of the cells in Part 3 or Part 4 of the 2nd copy, there is nothing to print other than part 1 and part 2 .
Does IRS accept the return if Page 2 is missing from a form 1116? Note that, when I generate my forms it does NOT mention that as statement anywhere in the form.
