Foreign Tax Paid Form 1116

When completing Form 1116 for Foreign Tax Credit, I do not see any field to enter the actual amount of foreign tax paid unless one selects "Itemized deduction."  Where is the tax paid field if one selects Tax Credit?  It also assumes one has all sorts of Dividends and Schedule K-1s, but this is not always the case, and most situations are simply income tax statements to a foreign government.

if you choose a credit, there is a screen that says No other income or Expenses.  Here you will say no. Then you will navigate through the screen until you reach a screen asking you the income type, here you should pick General Category Income.

After picking the country and answering questions, you will reach a screen that says Foreign Taxes paid, XXX. Here you will record the amount of foreign taxes paid on other income. See the screenshot below. note the check box and where the amount of foreign taxes paid was recorded.
