For the last two years the standard deduction was more than my itemized deductions. Should I use the 1040EZ this year?

What happened the last two years does not affect what you do this year, though it may be an indication. If your itemized deductions this year will be less than your standard deduction, then you may be able to use TurboTax Free Edition.

In TurboTax you don't select the form you are going to file. Just enter your information and TurboTax will automatically select the simplest form that you qualify to use. If you start off in Free Edition and enter something that it cannot handle, it will tell you that you have to upgrade.
