For 2021, why does TTax Review Analysis keep reducing my $600 donation, standard deduction, to $300?

With standard deduction and an entered $600 cash given to a qualified charity, my 1040 line 14 is correctly $28,400. But I run Review Analysis, and TTax reduces the $600 to $300, despite married filing jointly. There are no other return errors. Shall I keep the $600 entry by just not running Review Analysis again? TTax expert had no answer for me in 75 minutes. today, tried hard.

Yes, if there are no other errors, keep the $600 and do not run review analysis and see if this alleviates the problem. Make sure you verify you are married filing jointly by;

  1. Go to tax tools>tools>view tax summary
  2. Select preview my 1040 on the left pane in your return.
  3. Check to see under filing status that Married Filing Jointly is selected.
  4. Then check line 12B to verify if you are receiving the $600 deduction.

I have exactly the same problem.  It is obviously an error in Turbotax!

@Axisgirl

Are you using the Desktop or Online version?

Also, here is one workaround you can try.  If that does not work, please respond back here with the version you are utilizing.
