Every time I select that we are no longer in the Home after Dec 31 2023 it wants to delete the form 5405 and it wont let me complete it. Why is this happening?

I have been going to an Accountant to do my taxes and they have been submitting my First-time homebuyer forms as far as I know but this year when I tried it won't let me

If you sold your home in 2023, you should have included Form 5405 on your 2023 return to notify the IRS that you no longer had the home for which you claimed the credit. If not, you may need to go back and amend your 2023 return to include that information.

If, however, you sold the home in 2024, report that you still owned the home and TurboTax will include the final Form 5405 on your 2024 return.

You only have to pay back the credit to the extent of any gain on the sale of the house. So if you had no gain, you don't pay back the credit.
