I am single. I would get the standard deduction for my 2023 taxes of $13,850.
I was born in November of 1958 and I turned 65 in November of 2023. Turbo Tax is now increasing my standard deduction by $1,850, for a total deduction of $15,700.
On the forms (i.e. Form 1040) in TurboTax checks the box "You were born before January 2, 1959" and that is were I believe the extra $1,850 is coming from. I cannot uncheck that box. TurboTax automatically checked this box. TurboTax knows my birthday (Personal Wks) I was born in 1958, so I was born after January 2, 1959.
Isn't this an error? Is the 1040 form wrong with the born after date? Or do I not really deserve the extra senior standard deduction?
If what you state is correct, then November 1958 is BEFORE January 1959 not after, then you are entitled to the extra standard deduction.

No, you were born before January 2, 1959.
