Downloaded the new form 4684 today & entered my Hurricane Irma losses. It seems to be deducting the loss on both schedule A & D (I'm itemizing deductions). Really?

Seems like it should only show up on Schedule A or D, but not both. What am I missing?

I'm having a similar problem. Filled out the casualty loss form for Hurricane Irma & my return was rejected because I have capital loss carryovers and sale of business property but I don't have capital or a business. I don't think you are missing anything...sounds like a software problem. I'm using TurboTax Deluxe 2017. You will have to contact TurboTax by logging in at the start screen, click on HELP then at the bottom of the pull down screen, click on CONTACT US, describe your problem then they will ask for your phone number.

Where you able to report the loss from Hurricane Irma? It keeps giving me a capital loss carryover and sale of business property income.

When I try to contact them it only allows me to post a question in the community...no option to provide a phone number.

When you sign in to your TURBOTAX DELUXE, & click on HELP at top right of screen then click on CONTACT US at bottom right of screen, it will tell you to type in your question or keyword. Just type in HURRICANE IRMA for your question, click on the CONTINUE button & the next screen will be CHOOSE A WAY TO CONNECT WITH US. Scroll down to GET A CALL BACK, click on it & then enter your info & they will call you back. The call back may take anywhere from 20 minutes or less or up to 70 minutes. They will stay on the phone with you till it is resolved but you need to have your computer in front of you

I called again today (being a little impatient) & the representative fixed my form manually. Electronically filed minutes ago. We'll see what happens.

Thanks. My tax return was rejected again. "This return cannot be electronically processed at this time. The problem is currently under investigation. You may wait one to two weeks, then reopen this return, review for errors, and retransmit for electronic filing. (If the problem has not been resolved, the return may be rejected again.) If you do not want to wait and retransmit this return, you may print and file the return by mail."

i filed after the update that fixed everything, then it was rejected by IRS turbo tax said to sign on that it would fix any errors, i signed on and it instantly said the errors were fixed and to refile, i did and the IRS accepted it fine and seems to be all done with just waiting for refund

Okay, I refiled on Feb 8 after I rec'd an email saying everything was fixed but IRS rejected Feb 9 morning due to INTERNAL ERROR. Then I rec'd an email yesterday afternoon (Feb 9) telling me to sign in & if TURBOTAX asks me to update, then click on link & update but if you are completing your forms online, it will automatically update.  So after 4 rejections,  I called to make absolutely sure software was updated (a lady from SC was my rep) & she said "YES" so I just refiled. Hope it works this time. Let me know if you get rejected again & I will do the same.

I also got rejected yesterday too after being told it was fixed...  I logged in and it said it was fixed and to refile.  I decided to wait till today just in case there was a 37th issue with this entire process.  I've always been happy with TurboTax but this process has been a train wreck.  Going to refile now and see what happens.

It got accepted this time, the only change was logging in and clicking file.  Remember to change the date on signatures if the day has changed.

I downloaded the update on 2/9 (using TurboTax Deluxe CD version)...filed return today (2/11) and it was accepted by the IRS in about 1-2 hours.  🙂

I filed  my  return last week when turbo tax was updated and fixed, the IRS accepted it and is sending my refund , so WHY did I get an email TODAY from  Turbo Tax saying this:

Your tax forms are ready  
 
 The wait is over!
 
 The tax forms we needed to finish up your taxes are ready to go.
 
 We’re ready to walk you through:

 Simply open TurboTax on your computer and it should update automatically.

wasn't it fixed last week? it scares me was my return filed correctly or is this email just late coming out and it WAS fixed when I filed

I refiled on the 10th & it was finally accepted an hour later. Haven't had any rejections since & this was 6 days ago..so far everything going smoothly as it should had in the FIRST place.
