Does the Energy-Efficient Vehicle Charging Station credit work for me putting in a $800 220v charger in my garage? If so, why isn't the form on Turbo Tax working yet?

Original Response: Sorry, that credit expired at the end of 2016, so it is not valid on your 2017 tax return.

Edit: On February 9th, 2018, Congress retroactively extended this through 2017. It will likely take several weeks for the IRS and TurboTax to get the Forms ready for that, so you may want to wait to file your tax return. The other alternative is to file now without it, then amend your tax return later to add the credit.

will turbo tax be fixing the energy efficient vehicle charging station section since the credit was extended through 2017? Currently, the link takes me back to "my info" section. https://electrek.co/2018/02/09/ev-charging-credit-extended-2018/

Is the charging station credit available for 2018 filings? Turbo Tax has a spot to add the costs, but when I do so, the charger and installation costs do not appear?

As of now, that credit expired in 2017. It is possible that Congress will pass a law to retroactively renew it, but that is looking less and less likely.
