Do you consider a child living with you if they are away at college?

His permanent address was our home and he came home on weekends and holidays. I don't know own if I should check he lived with us all year or not.

Living away at school is considered to be a "temporary absence" so you can say the college student lived with you all year and claim him as a dependent as if he lived at home.
