Do I still need to file my taxes if I am working in a foreign country but also made less than $5,000 in freelance work in the U.S.? Form 2555 as well?

I have been living and working in a foreign country for over a year. I have filed my taxes in the foreign country (income: $50,000). However, because I also worked as a freelancer in the U.S. (total income is less than $5,000) I am wondering if I need to file this amount? Am I exempt from filing, and do I still need to file a 2555?

If you are a US citizen or resident then you will have to still file a tax return and report your worldwide income. Yes, you should be able to file Form 2555 to qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion.
