Yes. The property tax paid from escrow during 2021 is deductible on your tax return. This amount should be on your 1098 form.

Please follow the instructions below to enter your property taxes paid:

  1. Sign in and open your return if you're not already in it.
  2. Inside TurboTax, search for property tax and select the Jump to link at the top of your search results.
  3. Answer Yes to the question Did you pay property or real estate taxes in 2021?
  4. Enter your property/real estate taxes on the next screen.

Thank you! What about hazard insurance disbursements from escrow?

Hazard insurance and homeowners' insurance are not deductible for your residential home.

One more question! My ex husband and I were still married last year at tax time but not together. He filed jointly on his own and gave me my half. Do I need to request transcripts? Our divorce was finalized in August. Also, I didn’t work when we were married.

Yes, just include your half of the itemized deductions on your own return.
