Do I have to report benefit received from Washington State for medical leave? How do I file that?

I received short term benefits for 5 weeks when I was out of work with a surgery. I didn't pay federal tax on it and I didn't receive anything from the state to include with my tax return.

Medical leave received is fully taxable.

If the Medical Leave was paid through your employer it would be included as wages in your W-2. (Double check with your employer for confirmation).

If the Medical Leave was paid through the state you should have received Form 1099-G. You should contact your state PFML WA Paid Family & Medical Leave
