Do I have to have earned income to qualify for CTC?

I am tax exempt due to working overseas, but I have yearly investments income like dividends, ect. Would I still qualify for CTC or ACTC

No. For the Child Tax Credit,(CTC) you don't need earned income. The CTC reduces your tax liability. 

 

Yes. Qualifications for the Additional Child Tax Credit are the same as for the Child Tax Credit, with one more condition: your earned income must be at least $2,500.
