Do I get child tax

My federal return is not showing my child tax credit

The child tax credit is available to reduce your tax liabilityhowever if you do not have any tax liability because your income it too low or eliminated after your standard deduction and exemptions, it could convert to the "Additional Child Tax Credit" (ACTC) which is a refundable credit.  Check out the payments section of your tax return for the ACTC.

  • Note:  If your income is below $3,000 the additional child tax credit is not available.
