Did you overfund your HSA in 2023? Yes, but has been already withdrawn before April 15th 2024

I received excess contribution 1099-SA for tax year 2024. The amount has been withdrawn before April 15th, 2024, and accounted for 2023 tax year form 5329.  For 2024 tax, for Question Did you overfund HSA in 2023 ->Yes ->line 48 form 5329 amount. I enter the amount and next step I get options to select full or partial or do not to withdrawn. Even if I select the option: OK, we will make/have made full withdraw by April 15, 2025, It says too late to remove a prior year excess contribution.

How do make it net zero for 1099-SA excess contribution since it has been already withdrawn and accounted for in 2023 tax year?

thanks,

When you are asked "Did you overfund your HSA in 2023?", what TurboTax really wants to know is "Did you carry over any excess to 2024?"

If you withdrew all the 2023 excess before April 15, 2024, then you "cured" the excess.

Therefore, you answer NO to this question.

This should eliminate the rest of the problems.

Yes, but I think the question should have follow with option if it was withdrawn the before tax years deadline.
