Deducting 2018 PMI in my 2019 taxes

Congress recently allowed both 2018 and 2019 private mortgage interest premiums to be deductible. I didn't deduct PMI in my 2018 taxes. How do I deduct this 2018 amount in my 2019 taxes?

You  cannot.   That would have to be done on an amended 2018 tax return.  As of this date, the IRS has not issued any revision of the 2018 forms to support that.  Because you have 3 years from the due date of the 2018 tax return to amend, I suspect that the IRS will not address that issue until after the 2019 filing season busy time has ended.

Until the IRS issues revised 2018 forms there is no way for TurboTax to add it.

Now that the IRS has updated their forms, how long before TurboTax gets updated (it's now 4/15/20)? I've downloaded the latest 2018 updates but schedule A in TT still shows "Reserved" and trying to amend has no effect.
