Contributions

I have e-filed Federal return twice. It was rejected both times because of a problem with contributions. I eliminated all contributions and it left a $118 carryover from 2019. What must I do to pass Federal scrutiny?

What is the actual reject message and reject code?

Your Federal return was rejected due to an issue with Charitable Deduction Limits on Schedule A .

ACTION NEEDED: Important Information about your Federal Tax Return

Your tax return now includes an update interview question regarding charitable contributions

That is the same rejection notice I received on both Federal rejection notices.

That does not appear to be an IRS reject but internal to TurboTax.

Did you file a schedule A with charitable donations?

Yes

Message came back that both the Feds AND the State rejected my return.

Like I said, the state reject is automatic if Federal rejects.

All I can suggest to to review the Schedule A to be sure you are not exceeding the deduction limits.

Or contact Customer service to look at your return.
