Clothing donation of $500+ is not changing my refund

I have a clothing donation (with receipt) to The Salvation Army of $928. I have it entered in but it is not changing the amount I get refunded. This is my first year claiming a donation so I am honestly not sure if it should affect my refund or not. Thanks

Unfortunately, if that is your only deduction, it won't change your refund.  In order for itemized deductions to impact your refund, you must have more than $6,300 if filing single ($12,600 if filing jointly).  The IRS offers you either the $6,300 or the total of all your itemized deductions, whichever is greater.
