Child Care Provider with Guam Address - Error and Cannot Proceed

I'm active duty military stationed in Guam. I am not a Guam resident. When submitting the address for my child care provider (to flow to Form 2441), Guam is no longer an option (it was last year). Instead, I have to select "Foreign or U.S. Territory" - it cannot be left blank. The zip code cannot be left blank. When I submit, I get the error "Zip code does not match state seleced [sic]".

Yes, the zip code is correct. It is the same one I used on my 2023 return. Why the change?

I entered information without a zip code in the "Child and Dependent Care Credit" section and did not get an error.

Are you sure you are not getting an error about YOUR zip code?

I have seen that happen with military members, where I have not heard of any problems on Form 2441.

If that is the issue, return to the Personal Info section

Review your mailing address

If you select APO/DPO/FPO Address

FPO

AP - Armed Forces Pacific

the zip should be 96606

HERE is a link for Military Addresses

Let us know if this does not address your error issue

Hello,

I am having the same issue with the form 2441.  My care provider is a military daycare in Europe.  The address is an FPO, AE box but that is not an option in the drop down.  When I select foreign or US territory, I get an error stating that the zip code and state do not match.

This error will not let me proceed.  I can get out of the dependent child care section but it flags in the federal review and there is no way to move passed it.

To resolve this issue, change the childcare provider "type" to "foreign provider on the screen where you enter the data for the provider.   This will allow you to bypass the need to enter the address for the provider.

It will look like this:
